Rumination

ru·mi·na·tion
ˌro͞oməˈnāSH(ə)n/
1.a deep or considered thought about something.

I had a dream the other night I was thrown into the ocean with all my clothes on including my phone and wallet. By now the details are a bit hazy… I quickly regained by phone, but my ID cards were floating away, evading my grasping hands as I reached out for them. I told a friend and jokingly he asked, “What do you think it means?” I replied the first thing that came to mind, “I’ve lose my identity!” We lightheartedly laughed it off and went our separate ways, but I found it resonated with me. I’ve been struggling to define myself for some time. Where do you separate who you are from who you want to be?

I don’t remember exactly when this set was taken, maybe July of last year. Photographer Ryan Chard Smith, fellow model Danielle Deschene and I met up in Santa Cruz.
